I prefer to leave it overnight but many times have removed it after painting and drying/curing with the hairdryer/heat gun.
I would usually put the dryer on the cool function first though and cool the liquid mask because as matt says liquid mask is a pain to remove if warm.
if your using standard paint window masks Id just score the edge and take them straight off.
