I know 1S is popular in the GT12, but this is mainly because that's what you have to run in the Nationals and so that is what is in the BRCA rule book. There have been several (lively) discussions about this subject, there was actually a very good test done by someone as a 1S/2S comparison. There was almost zero performance difference (1S 13.5 vs 2S 21.5) and I am still very surprised that 1S won out, but it is pretty much because a lot of 12th scale guys were represented at the meetings and that is the gear they already run.
Anyway, whatever you decide to do it would be good to see you down at the club soon.
