I think an 8.5 is way to go, i would take a Reedy or Speed Passion.
And even with a Standard size servo you can squeeze the ESC in front (picture of my car attached) but i'm using a smaller receiver.
The capacitor is fixed with double-sided tape on top of the servo, with the standard body i would tape it to the red battery wire i guess.
At least that's it for mid-motor.
