I usually find that the problem is with the aluminium spacer on the layshaft. You need to file it down slightly and place a small shim either side of it but make sure there is still a bit of play in the shaft when the gearbox is together. You can also place a shim after the bearing but before the first slipper pad which will allow the slipper to be tightened. I use AE pads as they are thicker than the original Durango ones and once I did this I have never had the problem again.
