Are you using a good amount of green slime? soaking the rings? Is anything split or cut?

I built it as per the gear diff build guide online, When I took the diff out it was dry where the diff halfs join the main gear but there was some build up around the outdrives. I will strip the diff completly to check for cuts/splits, It does seem from some of the responses that this is normal but I thought the gear diff was fit and forget.
