Ok testing has been done today. First problem
1. Spur gear is too close to the gear cover and rubs against it which kills the spur. Solution is move the slipper clutch further inwards towards the motor plate thus avoiding the gear cover contact.
2. I had the slipper tightend as much as it would physically go and it was still slipping so its almost perfect but would like to be able to set it tighter still. Solution ???
Overall its almost there, i had the quickest car there and drove it like i stole it and the gearbox took the strain and the belts are unscathed so great, its possible to shorten the screw section by the slipper by 2.5mm so making the layshaft a bit shorter. I did kill two spurs but may be down to movement of the motor but think its down to slipping. Will change the motor and pinion and test again in two weeks time.
