Indeed ... Atomic Carbon had a similar prototype based on BJ4WE way back, I did something "similar" before that using a Pred as a basis (worked ok but getting side to side balance right without adding loads of weight with the old brushed electronics was difficult) and I believe there was something from a guy in Japan based on a Yokomo SD touring car / MR4B hybrid.
It's the Kyosho's rear end geometry along with some carefully considered engineering by the RudeBits crew that make this car work so well.
