Cheeky monkeh, no I am not 40 yet, got a few yrs to go.
The way I interpreted the entry to the F2s on the info pack is that if a region doesnt take all their 15 slots then its opened to lower grades...........therefore in theory I could, but it depends how many from our region want to go. I might not go to either, just working out options at the moment.

"British Formula 2 Championship:

Ideally, the best drivers from each Region (excluding Formula 1 grade drivers) would compete for the British Formula 2 Championship (F2s), thus deciding the British Formula 2 Champion. This event is the logical next step on from your Regional events. If you have been the top F2 in your Region this is the opportunity to go National and try to beat all the other F2 competitors in the country? All entries from F2 drivers for this event will be given placement priority over entries from F3/4/5 drivers as they have their own dedicated event (F345s – see below). In reality, due to work, education or holiday commitments, we rarely get the all the best F2 drivers attending from each Region (i.e. the highest finishing F2s in the Regional series) so if you would like to take part, it is strongly recommended, even if you finished well down the Regional standings, that you submit the following Formula 2 entry form to your Regional Rep. You would be surprised the levels of success some Regional Reps. achieve in gaining places for their drivers at these competitions! "
