Mike - I did end up running a blade around the liquid mask on the last shell - as you say it takes ages !
Chrome - I put on maybe 3 or 4 coats - until it's solid and I can't see through it. Drying it between coats. Then back with black.
The black after the chrome doesn't adhere to the chrome paint very well either.
Am I doing it right Mike ?

Jon has hit the nail on the head mate, too much gear is going on... I usually try to get away with a couple of light coats & for the backing again 2 very light coats to block it out. I've a few ways of peeling back the masking too, i'll be nipping to the suprcup to drop some shells off so I can have a chat to ya then if you're gonna be there
