I have to agree with a no rule-rule!?!
Tyre wear is relative, I don't burn through tyres like the top boys because I am much less aggressive and I presume we can use harder longer lasting compounds on carpet because the grip levels are mental already!? I could be wrong?
Also Ian I know you said it will not be pure carpet but mixed surface so it will be like most things, a compromise, mini pines etc would be good on the straight, mini spikes, d/boots on the mixed surfaces - it swings in round abouts...thats the beauty of it!
Also you said the track will change regularly so a tyre for one layout might not be the best for another if the surfaces/ features change....I reckon open rule all the way, letting people work on setups etc is a great part of the sport - I for one would not like someone telling me what is best for me to use if they have never driven my car with my setup the way I drive!
