I had a 410 diff that was notchy as hell even after 30mins rum was still not smooth.
I filled it with cutting oil, spun it up with an electric drill for a few seconds ( put an old drive shaft in the chuck held the main gear) tipped out the grey slurry, smoooooooth as silk. (you will prob need new seals as the Cutting oil makes them swell)
