Two reasons I would imagine.

1: most people who have raced for a few years have dozens of pin type wheels so it makes sense to use these for the rear which means the fronts don't match.

2: the kit wheels only come spoked and not only do people tend not to like spokes but they flex too which can cause problems with handling.
