Other than that the cars seem to be identical, so it would seem what the V3 gives you over the R is aluminium parts in key areas for strength, some more adjust-ability with anti roll bars, insert RR suspension hanger, fine tune shock towers.

Big bore shocks are nice, but I have been told by a couple of people that the standard bores can be made to work just as well, I have borrowed a 410 from a mate as I am thinking about buying one myself it came with standard bores which made it twitchy and a little unpredictable in the bumpy sections (car would kick up) fitted a set of 210 big bores and the car much better over the bumps and jumps at my local track (Coventry).

Oh and some nice gold bling as well...

So at the end of the day it comes done to the amount of cash in your wallet, or which car is the best value for what you pay for it (the would be the V3 for me).
I purchased a V3R. After building and running it for a short while, I have to say that I really wished I'd bought the full fat.

For just a bit more you get a whole set of very important alu suspension holders (FF being the most critical). Buying these guys separately and shipping them can add significantly to the expense. Further, if you buy the suspension holders separately, you also have to get ball ends to fit the hinge pins into the suspension holders.

Apart from the differences graveltrap listed above, the full fat V3 also comes with a new khuler body shell. It gives you more space up front for your electrics and such, is cab forward, and has a little lip at the back of it. It looks really nice. The DEX410 is a squeeze up front so the extra space would have been welcome.

The anti roll bars included as standard on the full fats are not strictly necessary, but they give you the option to use them. If you do decide you need them on the V3R you will have to purchase them separately. More $$.

If you're good enough on the track for such things to matter, the carbon fibre shock towers also lower the centre of gravity of the car slightly.

Big bores would have been welcome too.

So all in all, I really regret buying the V3R instead of the full fat V3. If you can afford the V3, just get that instead.
