I didn't experience any cut-out when running on 6v.
5.5v wasn't enough for the Futaba R603FS or R603FF receiver.
(I think they want as close to 6v as possible...)
Servo was the BLS451 so not a slouch but is good for low current draw, apparently. It may have been a lucky combo for me, having those three together.
One other thing I've remembered. Did get some glitching when running the Lipo Cutoff too high (3.3v and above). Always ran that at 3.0v and chose to never run the car long enough for it to reach the cutoff.
Don't know if any of that will fix it for you, but it might shed some light...
