We'd take a new tyre, cut the beading off upto the bottom of the writting. Then cut diagnoly following spike pattern, and cut again 3-4 rows - to bin. Re-glue together the smaller diameter tyre, then glue the remaining sidewall to the inside edges of the wheel.
Worked awesome. Never came unglue either as long as washed thoroughly beforehand and dried.
