The recommended ratio tends to be associated with a particular motor rather than a specific car. The motor manufacturer may recommend a ratio for 2wd or 4wd buggy which may help.
For example, LRP suggest an FDR of 10.8 for the 6.5 LRP Octa that I have in a 4wd buggy. Obviously these are only guidelines and certain tracks and conditions may suit different gearings.
