I'd put money on it being a bad joint on the sensor module. Take it out (it's teh board that the sensor lead plugs into) The joints on the back of the sensor plug are often a little suspect. If you are happy giving it a go they can easily be re-soldreed, but don't do it if your not confident.

They are available as a complete new board from Speed Passionn (via Schumacher) if you can't repair the origional one.
