You are correct about the battery connectors, this is the way it should be. Solder some 4mm corally type connectors on to the end of the battery wires and plug them straight in to the lipo. As for the motor, if you use a V.3 or MMM Speed Passion motor, they come with small connectors that plug on to the endbell of the motor. This means that you dont need to solder then de-solder everything when you want to change motor, just unplug, take motor out, put motor in and put the plugs back in. Easy. Hope this helps.
