DS Tape
My local Motor Factor (not Halfords) sells double sided foam numberplate tape, comes on 5 meter rolls for about a fiver and works superbly.
+1 for cleaning both surfaces 1st with alcohol wipe.
Failing that get some Futaba servo tape. Part number SLSTAB ( not a joke this used to be the part number when Ripmax distributed ). It works ! !
