Hey Dave you want to start with a 80/27 (Based on an Epic Duo 3 10.5)
It means modifying the slipper to get the 80 spur from the X2/X2C in. This is an
irreversible modification

but you can run the 86 from the truck/SC if you feel the need to go higher in the future.
So what you need to do is file back the little bumps that go in the large hole of the 85 spur so it all sits flat. (see pic below) use the slipper pads from the X2 also and it all fits just nice (close to the teeth on the spur but fits nice).
I've taken it a step further to be able to use AE spurs but its a little more complicated as they are thinner and of course the outer rim of the hub needs to fit inside the hex. Been doing some work for the team that run 17.5 non boosted class.
