Ive just finished building my 210 kit, and I had a similar problem. My solution was to use the Durango Motor plate and put the gear over the layshaft hole. The hole is just the right size that when you tap (read smack hard!!!!) the shaft (oooh-errr missus) the bearing stays in place and the shaft pops right through.
