As far as i know Kamtec don't do ZX-R repro shells they do optima mid etc but not the Lazer, used shells do come up on e-bay from time to time but new shells are very rare and if you do find one you will pay quite a bit for one. There's a guy down under who does repros of the Lazer ZX shell which will fit the ZX-R and he sells on e-bay sometimes.
Might be worth posting some pics as the ZX-R and ZX-S are quite different but from what you have said in your post sounds more like a ZX-R which came with the gold shocks and the white front gearbox was an up-grade for them back in the day
