I.C. are allowed but we try to dissuade them as they are usually too slow against modern brushless motors and Lipo batteries. Also the races we run are governed by an instant start and there aren't many who can start an engine first time every time. Another thing, when they crash and the engine cuts out, what do you do then ?
All in all you'll have more fun with your old electric. One Lipo battery to use all day, not like the old days when you had to have a battery for every race. You'll need a "Lipo" charger to go with it, and top up the battery each time.
Old speedos are ok as long as you don't run the battery flat.The new ones have a cut off for Lips.
Brushed motors are fine too. We've seen old 10 turn motors keep up with brushless at most tracks.
