You cant fiddle the gearing to slow the motor down, brushless motors have a 'sweet spot' to which you need to gear them into so they run properly (efficiently ect). If you went with a 3* then it would be better suited, maybe trade your motors as a 4* would be rarly needed in a 2wd buggy, especially with lipo batteries.
