The sc10 diff does tell you to use grease when building it, but it will hold oil as it has the o-rings and seal.

Im currently running 900cst as its thin enough to give good steering while thick enough not to push. Found thinner than this can make the car snappy under power and thicker can make it push off power as there isn't enough movement in the diff.
