I can see what you're saying and totally agree it would save the chassis from wear. Will the button head screws not give uneven location of the toe block? On the otherhand the countersink will always put the screws to the center of the holes and thus always line the block up tru every time.
The chassis isn't exactly an expensive item, so I don't see the problem with leaving it as standard. If you're really worried, just slap on some chassis protector.
Totally agree on the velcro idea, thats what all the team guys did with the pre-release cars.
