I think your problem maybe with the time you leave between coats (my personal opinion) I think that by leave a days drying time between coats you are creating 4 separate layers (hence they come off seperate and not in one piece) I would recommend laying down a coat, followed by a blow dry with the hairdryer
until it starts to look dry, then put on your second coat and follow the same procedure for the amount of coats you want. I normally use 3-4 medium coats applied with a brush.
