WHAT???? It uses the tranny from the ACADEMY Griffin buggy, with a few minor changes. The tranny is keyed into the bottom plate of the chassis, the rear hinge pin blocks are aluminum with plastic balls snapped into them. CVA rear axles not CVD's. Long and short rear arms, can use almost any popular racing rear rim on the market. So I guess your right... its a copy.
