If people don't support classes then clubs will move to classes that will support the clubs.

I think you missed MY point - if clubs don't support the classes out there (and allow room for their growth via participation) then pretty soon there's one class; and offroad racing has been about diversity since the early-90s, and if you don't keep up with the times and options then you're back to the same old single-class rules of the 1980s.
