Honestly, anytime you're going to upgrade the motor (and ditch the stock motor) then by all means upgrade the ESC as well (Stock esc = stock motor, period) --- and frankly, if you're new (as in purchased an rtr) I'm guessing the 6100kv is way more motor than you can handle.....
unless you're just bashing or want to practice your donuts.
