From what I understand all the standard ones are loaded with 20 random numbers, literally all different, so you stand a better chance of running into an unknown identical twin at the track than you do having the same number MRT... and if you do, you just push a little button on the top of the transponder and you change/reset the number (sometimes I do it just to screw with the race director
