this is "boundary reinforcement" where a speaker will sound best a certain distance to a wall, try moving it (assuming it's not wall mounted)

best solution? pc speakers!

i work for comet, and sell quite a few different types, from about £20 upwards. before you buy, just check your tv with some headphones in, to ensure the normal volume control still works from the remote? some need the volume changing in the menu.

then just plug in the speakers to the headphone socket!

the ones we do well with are the bose at £250, expensive but awesome sound for such tiny speakers! definitely get ones with a sub...
