I've got a GM120 and the wires are connected to solder posts, so the wires can be removed from the top, not underneath (still a real pig of a job though!) just check yours (think it's later versions with the solder posts)

As for setting it up, you press the set button for about 4 seconds till it beeps, then do your stick full throttle and full brake....this will be mode 2 which is what buggies are best with.

I had a problem on my Futaba 3VC where the tranny didn't have enough throw, so had to raise the end point to 115% which worked for me.

If all is well when you switch on it should beep twice to tell you it's in mode 2.

The speedo really needs to be connected to a PC to get the best out of it, the software is amazing and I've tweaked mine to be perfect, it would be next to impossible to do it with the set button etc.
