Looks as though the slipper outdrive is longer, which allows the prop shaft to sit deeper into into the outdrive.

You can carry on running your current prop shaft/sliiper outdrive, then when they wear out just upgrade to the new one. Personally ive never had a problem with the shaft popping out, but Durango have listened to customers feedback and implemented the change to make this area bullet proof.
