I lived in Tokyo for over two years and my girlfriend for about six. If you want to get some ideas of what to see/do/eat when your there come and speak to us (if she's back in the UK by then) at the Stotfold national. There are so many amazing photo opportunities it's almost worth not going to the worlds and just hanging out in Tokyo with your camera. It's a very special place, i can't say i enjoyed my time there but it was an eye opener, even after two years i was still shacking my head in amazement.
By the way good gag about the "Tokyo optician".
