Meh, I would love to say Velcro, as it does make working on the car far simpler, but after finding large rolls of the good automotive stuff that is probably stickier than a sticky thing on a warm day, but then just rolls off under your finger when your done.... DOUBLE SIDED is the only way to go......
As for shock absorbtion, after working on aircraft, the only thing I ever seen velcro'd would be cloth trims..... all electronics are securely fitted, so there
