B4.1 manual recommends 24t pinion for a 10.5t motor running 81t spur for a starting gear ratio !!!
(for some reason B4.1ft manual states the gear ratio for 81/24 for a 10.5t motor will give you 8.42 FDR !!!)
Heres how to calculate the gear ratios
Spur gear
81 divided by pinion gear
24 multiplied by the internal gear box ratio
2.6:1 = Final Drive Ratio (FDR)
8.775 (or 8.78)
81 / 24 x 2.6 = 8.775 (or 8.78)
Check instructions that came with motor as it might have its own preferred gear ratio !!!
