Nope, you are not alone. I have a (small) hole too. I tend to cover the chassis with some ducttape. It covers the hole and prevents dirt into the screws.
I have been in contact with Fabs from time to time and I know he has been on the business all the time. The problem, indeed as stated higher, was that he was depending on other people's promisses and stuff. ANyway, I'm confident that I'll have my two Gearboxes soon noow (I have two MCS's
)
