A wise rc man once told me you somtimes need to go slower to go faster and in a way its true to a point.
if you watch the vid of my car in the final it was slow yet I still did 16 laps including a 40sec first lap

totally agree with you martin, I NEVER drive flat out at any point, im more hesitant and always strive to drive smoother and finding better lines.
my take on it is i would be faster flat out but no doubt on my roof more, and being on your roof can often add 10seconds a lap, so my theory is if i hold back slightly and crash less I will reach the finish faster than flat out crash, flat out crash.
I have to say it works well, but im at the point now where i can see its holding me back now, if i can learn to push more without increasing time on my roof ill defo be up in the standing.
