At least at the race track you are learning co-ordination with racing lines, problem solving when things go wrong with the car & overall you will make great friends, also your not out rioting in the streets or hanging out on street corners
Like others i was lucky to have my dad doing the pit work when i started, until i started to beat him & he made me do it on my own
luckily he had taught me enough to get me started, my mum never understood why i spent so much on my cars but it was in my blood from the first race meeting & eventually she just accepted that it kept me happy & out of trouble
