....a few people have asked so here's some suggestions if you aren't local. If you are local and have any recommendations, feel free to add:

Camping on site is the cheapest option but no facilities other than cafe / wash room open during business hours. Here’s a few options, if you want recommendations, most are on www.tripadvisor.co.uk

pub restaurant on Lanchester village green, a few minutes drive from the track. Village has a few pubs, Italian restaurant, chippy, Chinese, Indian, Kebab/Pizza takeaway and a Spar
£45 per room

b&b plus several self catering barn conversions, a few minutes drive from the track
from £27.50 per person per night

Caravan Park / Camping, 5 minutes from the track

http://www.premierinn.com/ - Premier Inn, Walkergate, Durham City
where the nightlife is at but 15 minutes drive from the track, worth a look

expensive hotel, if you won the Euromillions, 10 minutes drive from the track
