Having had both, I think you have made the right choice.
On their day both cars are great, but if you are just starting off again, the B4.1 is bulletproof and more simple to set up than the Cougar...
Just ignore the kit set up/tyres and get one of the more UK specific ones. (Blue/silver springs etc)
