your best bet is to try and find out where your nearest club runs im from scotland so i cant help you out there but im sure someone on here will be able to help you out.
buggy wise again you have the choice 2wd or 4wd the popular sort of 2wd buggies at the moment are the team losi racing 22, tamiya trf 201 as for 4wd
theres the team associated b44, tamiya 501 that are reasonably priced.
but as i said best bet is to find your local club and see what the guys there are racing and get advice from them before you buy
