150 would be better than 80, even if you don't use all the capacity. An 80amp run at 80-90% capacity will run hotter than 150 at 50%. So not only will it run cooler and have less of a chance of frying but a cooler ESC will mean longer run times, longer run times mean you have flexibility to get smaller, lighter more agile batteries that are cheaper and/or higher C Ratings for more power.

The type of battery you get will really depend on what you are using it for. How much run time you need and yes of course what type of motor and ESC you are running. if you run an 80amp esc and 2700kv motor the packs I'd recommend would be 180degrees from a set up with 150amp and a 2200kv.
