The V2 shocks do away with the plastic clip to retain the seals.
The seals now fit into the bottom of the shock from the outside and are retained by a screw on cap.
The sizes are so identical that Associated sell the bodies on their own so that you can reuse the caps, seals and shafts, springs, etc from the V1 shocks.
Consensus seems to be that the V2's are smoother than the old ones as well as removing the risk of the plastic clips blowing on a big jump.

The bleeder caps have been available seperately for some time before the V2 shocks came out and are worth getting anyway.
