Helmets have a safety factor that's more important than how the paint job looks. Make sure you don't get any paint at all on the inside and that includes the vent holes. Only take off what you can. And when it's clear coated make sure they don't bake it in an oven as that will damage the inside, you can't see it either but it won't work if it needs to in an accident.
