Collective short term memory loss?

Bahrian, 2010, first race without refuelling - snorefest. Cue multiple posts in every corner of the internet, and articles in the press, saying this is terrible; F1 is dead, bring back refuelling, etc., etc. One processional race and we are back to the same.

In over 30 years of following F1 and racing RC cars, one thing is totally clear - you cannot level the playing field or artificially create situations that don't occur on their own. Get rid of the tyres that degrade, the flappy wing thingys, the KERS and all that other stuff. Go back to flat front wings, curved undertrays and side pods, and single plane rear wings. Let the whole car smooth the airflow and reduce by a mile the deficit of running in dirty air.

Now the guys can drive the wheels off their cars, because they are just like Indy cars that have no trouble following each other in dirty air, but they'll be heaps faster being lighter and having carbon brakes. F1 is the most highly regulated class of motor sport on the planet, because having unfettered Rules means we would have traction control, active suspension and about 2000bhp - too dangerous, yet too easy to drive fast. If we could only have more input on Rules from the engineers... Just my 2p.
