the madrat is a solid car, and can be very competitive at club and regional level. The only things you need to do to it are ballrace it for about £8, and replace the kit shocks at the tops fall off all the time.
Pick up some second hand alloy shocks such as B4 shocks, then the car is very good.
Also lipo and brushless are the way forward, much less hassle to maintain.
