umm..... not sure to be honest. like various questions, i just do it and don't think too much about it. have learnt what works sub consciously i guess.
try to keep yer paint layers light.
liquid masking applied to thinnly can let paint build create problems.
dry yer paint thoroughly, let cool off before removing.
sometimes i find removing the mask quickly helps.
something like this is just a case of doing it and gaining experience.
sod it, i still get it wrong too sometimes so don't sweat it... i think the main difference in more experienced painters is they can rectify a problem rather than just accepting it.
