Thanks for the help guiys, I bought the buggy off ebay, yes I think it was a RTR.
I have solved the spacce issue by using the original ESC which is a lot smaller that my original one. I was hoping to use mine to save having to change battery connectors.
I tried fitting the receiver on top of the servo but now the body won't fit.
I will try the spacer idea, for the battery posts tomorrow and see how i get on. I don't really want to start cutting/grinding unless I really have to. ( but it will be a good excuse to buy a dremel! )
All in all I am so impressed with the build quality, ruggedness of the buggy, oh and the speed! I'm hooked and when I can justify the expense I think a new one will be on it's way to my house!
